Time for Wine. Finished

I think this is just about finished.  I will leave it for a few days and see if it needs anymore tweaking.
I am definitely going to do more still life. stepping out of my comfort zone is good for me. I have learnt so much from doing this project.

Time for Wine. #4

I think maybe I should have called this a WIP.  LOL  It is proving to be a challenge but a worth while one.   Getting the darned bottle straight . This is now starting to take shape.  I think ;)
Still a way to go yet.  I am really enjoying the challenge of this.

Time for Wine. #3

Here is another update.   This project is proving to be a slow one.  I am enjoying the process and stepping out of my comfort zone.  :D  It's always fun to try something different.  I still have a way to go on the grapes and the table.
Hope everyone is having a fun painting/drawing day.

I won't call this a WIP because I may as usual get on a roll and forget to post. I will do my best to keep you updated with the progress.

Break time over.

Time to get the pencils back in hand.  I have had a little break from drawing....  Got into some packing ready for the big move into our new home.   It's getting close now and with only  5 weeks to go.  3 for the house to be finished and the builders all gone.  Then it's the fun time,  main area tiles and carpet to be laid.   Light fitting to be installed, blinds for all the windows.
We have made a good start on the packing so that it will make it easy and no stress.  Plus a big bonus LOL all ornaments are packed...  WoooHooo   not much to dust now.

Here is an update of where the house is at.   Tiles being laid at the moment and then it will time for the painters.

Bailey (Take Two) #1

8 x 10" on Arches 300gsm paper.
You may be thinking Hey what is Doreen up to here. Well I had Bailey almost finished. Cleaning up the outside of the drawing frame as I always do with my much looked after Knead able eraser. When a mark appeared right across the top which was unmovable . Oh I could have cried. I just stood with this horrified look on my face. Well I thought this is not the end of the world. I will just start over.
A glass or two of Chardy went down very well at this point. hehehe.
Today is a new day and here is the new drawing..(Sorry it's not a good image, bad time of the day where the lighting is poor. It's also a wet dull day).  I will try to do more progress shots this time.

Back to the drawing board.

Time i was getting back to my artwork.   I have a commission to do of a gorgeous Airedale called Bailey. I will do a WIP and it will be in graphite.  I am looking forward to creating Bailey.
I will post the first stage probably  Friday or over the weekend.

I purchased some new Staedtler graphite pencils while I was in Townsville. It was great to wander around an art store.  I don't have a local art store here at home. I mostly shop online.  or I have to travel into Newcastle.
We are planning a visit to the USA again early next year and guess where I will be heading...    Dick Blicks,YAY!!!   I will also be keeping my eyes open for other super art stores.  You artists living in the USA are just so lucky to have so many choices of art materials.    Especially Sandford and Strathmore .
It's good to be back at the drawing board...LOL  addicted artist   hehehe.

I am back home.

Back home after a wonderful 5 days with my family.  The weather was great, lovely sunny warm days and wow did the family spoil me.  It all went so quickly. I don't think it went so quick for Nev but he is a great cook so he didn't starve and the house was very tidy when I got home.  LOL  he did say he had been over the kitchen floor with the paper towel roll.  and he polished the stove with the stainless steel cleaner... wow I don't do that.   He forgot we had a laundry with a washing machine. LOL.   We did miss each other.  Awwwwwwwwwwww.
They did a lot to the new house which was great to see when I got home. The roof is finished and the shutters and columns installed on the front of the house (Still to be painted).  Tomorrow the internal walls will be start.

Here is the update on the house.

I have a commission to get started on tomorrow.  Bailey is a  gorgeous dog.

Taking a Break

I am going up to Townsville to visit my daughter Sandra and family for 5 days.
My two grandsons know I am going but don't know what day in June... hehehe.

5 nights with a weekend carry on little case. Hmmmmmm getting good... LOL well I can get 3 days wear out of a pair of jeans... washing things through at my daughters is not a problem. although we will be doing so much girl stuff there will hardly be time for washing. LOL. It will be great to see them.
Nev is batching for the week so he can keep an eye on what is happening with the new house.  here is where we are up to with having it built.   We hope to move in end of July -Aug.

We are going by train tomorrow to Sydney and staying at a hotel in the CBD for the night and then Nev will take me to the airport and see me on my way.
He will probably take a 100 photos on the way back home.  wow.. 5 days with no one to make his cups of tea.   hehehe. I think he will enjoy the peace but will be pleased to see me when I get back home.

Happy drawing and Painting .  Back soon.
Hugs...Dors.
