WIP Orang-utan update #6

Arches smooth surface.  approx 22 " x 30"  It is a full sheet.
Getting there slowly.  I am trying to concentrate on the hair. There is so much of it and it does get a little tedious.  I will probably end up switching from the hair to the hand and more shading on the forehead.

Just a reminder  You can see  Rods amazing photography here   I am always very grateful to Rod for allowing me to use his awesome photos.

WOW!!! He is really coming along well. That is a big job you have taken on. I haven't worked with the Arches paper, how do you like it for such a big project?

Pat.. Thank you. I am trying to make myself have more patience by taking more time instead of rushing to get it finished, after all I am retired and what's the rush LOL.

Sally.. Thanks so much for your lovely comment.

Wendy.. Thank you. yes it is my largest drawing to date. I just love the Arches paper. I usually buy the 300gsm but I had this sheet and I can't remember the weight. I think is probably around the 220. The art shop gave me a discount on it to try it out. I wish I had marked the weight on it as I like it.

Jan.. Thank you so much and I hope all is well with you and that you are enjoying your art work. I will email you.

Hilda. I am glad you like it and thanks for your comment. Yes Rod does have some wonderful photography especially the animals as he lives fairly close to a zoo.

Andrew. Thank you for your nice comments. Oh my favorite shading tool. I think I would have to say the Roymac #4 shading brush which I trim down the bristles fairly short. I also like using the Chamois leather, which gives a nice even shading. To shade the eyes I like the tortillion.

I love your artwork Dors. They say the hands are an extension of the heart. I believe that's true. This coming along beautifully, sis. You always amaze me.
