New arrival. Awwwwwwwwww

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lCKc8tURtc      This is an amazing video showing the birth of a Joey.

We had an idea this was happening and tonight there she was with baby Joey in the pouch.  Couldn't you just cry with joy.    Just beautiful and in our garden.   This is truly heaven in the back yard.

They are tiny when they are born about 1" long, they find their own way after birth into Mum's pouch where they keep growing.  I think Mum kicks them out when they are big enough and strong enough to walk.

Wow! Dors! How fortunate you are! He looks so large for a newborn - somehow I thought they were smaller at birth.

When they are born they are only the size of a worm.

Sue. That's why I emigrated to Aussie at the ripe old age of 21 :)

What a gorgeous photo and thank you so much for sharing this beautiful miracle with us, Dors. We don't get to see this in the U. S., unless at a zoo.

Thanks for the link and the explanation, Dors. I thought they were teeny-tiny at birth but then thought your photo was of a newborn so was confused (as usual!)

Hi Dors,

Thank you for sharing this incredible photo! I would be in heaven also, if a kangaroo came to my backyard. What a wonderful experience to have wildlife so close.

Sue

P.S. When is your trip to the US.
