Mags WIP

Mags on Arches smooth paper.  8 x 10"

Mags is our resident magpie. He comes every day along with his mate Sobersides and little bubs.   LOL they are the names we have given to them.  They have heart for breakfast and what ever they can can get the rest of the day, toast, bread, ham.  They certainly don't go hungry. They have trained us well ;)
Still lots to do on Mags.   Black feathers are difficult but I have more layers to work on yet.

hi
lovely start on this. I like your compositions for birds very much - the branches and leaves and distant background.

Looking good so far. Love the shine on magpies - I want to see it done already!

Hi Dors,

I was excited to see a magpie for the first time last week on vacation in Idaho. What a beautiful bird. Can't wait to see how this unfolds.

You must live in a beautiful spot to have all the wildlife so near Dors, although I must admit we don't encourage the magpies as they tend to swoop at the boys, especially in spring. Your 'Mags' is coming along beautifully though and I do love to see your progress shots!!! :)

Thank you Sue and Karen. We don't seem to have a problem with the swooping that maybe because we have just the 3 male magpies as residents here. They have been here since the builders built our home..They started the feeding. LOL now we have them for good.
I will post an update tomorrow on Mags. ...

Hi Dors!... Enjoyed waltzing through your site!

You have a wonderful gift to catch the persona of the creature... as well as texture and sound draught(woman)ship!!! Lovely work!

Good Sketching!
Warm regards,
Bruce Sherman
