Bailey WIP #2

Getting along with this now and have a little more work to do especially on the nose which is not anchored enough.
The weather has been very dull for photos so I just kept going. It's too big to fit on my scanner.

Bailey has a very happy doggy face doesn't he?

Lovely work Dors - do you lift the white hairs out with an electric eraser?

Hi Sue. Thank you for your kind comment.

I use the negative drawing technique. but I do use my Tuffstuff pencil eraser that I chisel to a fine wedge shape to do extra highlight. I use the fine edge for thin hairs and the flat side of the chisel for thick parts of the fur.
Hope this makes sense.

Dors baily is looking great. Sue mentioned and electric eraser. Have you tried one? I have found an electric ereaser removes stubbron marks more effectively than other types and it may have been helpful in removing your unwanted blemish!! It has to be used gently though to avoid damage to paper surface. You probably have though!

Hi Sally... thank you. I do use an electric eraser. They are great.
I have managed to almost erase the mark. Just a faint line. It is not on the drawing. The matting would hide it nicely when framed.
I just was not prepared to ship it with a flaw.
It is for my clients friend.
My client has asked for the slightly damaged drawing and offered to pay some costs. which we are both happy about. I have tweaked it and they are both now ready to be shipped to 2 different countries.

What a fabulous expression on Bailey's face! This is just superb, Doreen!

Awwww thanks Sherry. It's been rather a challenge... you know white on white.
Interesting though.
Hope your having a good day. :)

Wow Dors, you've really made progress. Looks like you're almost finished! He has such a beautiful, expressive face. I don't own an electric eraser. Maybe I should put it in my wish list. Do they work well on film?

Nice work Dors, you really have captured a bit of character in your picture.

Hi Barbara. Thank you for your comment and always nice to see you visit my blog. I have never used the electric eraser on film.
Once you have one you will wonder how you ever managed without it.
I just use the little battery operated ones.
I will ask Karen Hull .... she used film a lot.
