Lotus Flower

©Doreen Cross

I have been busy doing a challenge for http://pencil-painting.ning.com/ It's an interesting challenge in Color Pencil.  I used a mixture of pencils because I don't yet have all the colors in the Prisma CP I used both Prisma and Polychromos.
It's good to have a love of many subjects. still life, portraits, I don't have a great love of landscapes but maybe one day I will try.

Dear Doreen, I am in awe with this last work of yours! It is absolutely marvelous! I needed to focus on it because it really seemed to me like a photo!! Incredible work with perfect capture of light and shadow!! Congratulations!! The Lotus flower is very famous here in China and a symbol in Macau´s flag! :)

This lotus flower is beautiful. The differences in pencils seems to have helped!

Just beautiful, vibrant colours that look great against the dark background.

As I already said at PPN I love this one. You truly are a magician with pencils and first I thought it is a photo. Unbelievable how real this looks alike!

BRAVO Dors, you are always a inspiration for me. I love the transparency you achieved for the petals.
