The Hut. Finished.

©Doreen Cross

The finished Hut. A real fun project. I know that Graphite and CP mixed tends to be muddy but where I put color, I kept the graphite to a minimum. The Ink didn't work to well. I will do another project using ink but will do it on watercolor paper and not film. I found that Ink and drafting film are very compatible.

We took this photo 6 yrs ago on a visit to the USA. Hut at Coles Pond. Vermont.

Oh this turned out great Dors. I am glad you enjoyed the experiment. It is always a wonderful feeling when we try something new and have it turn out the way this drawing did.

Sue, you are so kind with your comment. This project was new for me and wow did I have fun doing it.
I didn't care if it worked or not it was an experiment and I am quite pleased with it.

Thanks Sue. Hugs.

What a great finish, Doreen! I've really enjoyed watching this develop. Like someone has said, you have used the two media so effectively. I'm wondering if you've tried Derwent Graphitint pencils? They are, as the name suggests, graphite pencils with a hint of colour. :)

Thank you Janet for your lovely comment. You know I have some Derwent graphitint pencils..I had forgotten all about then... Half a brain I would be dangerous. LOL
Thanks for reminding me.
Now I have an excuse to do a similar one. hehehe.
Your a star.

Sounds like you had fun with this Dors. Good job and interesting choices you used. I like using graphite and colored pencil together, but not tried ink yet. I'll be looking forward to the next one you do! : )
