Above is the Ref photo I am working from.
I did the trees with a brush and graphite powder to roughly get some shape and then using color pencil to do the foliage which is just an impression of leaves. I have switched from the Pitt Pens and now using graphite powder and Sepia powder. Still using Prismacolor pencils and graphite pencils.

Love it!!
I'm really interested to see how you've worked the background of trees as I'm attempting one of my most ambitious CPs pictures at the moment (ambitious because I don't usually draw backgrounds) and I've struggled with the trees and grass. I think its 'one for the bin' but will reserve judgement for a couple of days. I like the simplicity of your trees which works beautifully - I think I tried too hard :o(
Oh wow you got lots done on this. It is looking great and will make a stunning drawing.
Been watching your progress on this and it's looking so great! Love the addition of the trees and new details on the structure. This place has so much character!
Sue. Thank you so much for your comment. The trees. I just do an impression of trees. I will explain in more detail on the update. I hope you don't bin yours..Love to see it. you have so much talent. Sometimes I think we all try too hard. I just did this for fun, if it was a commission I would have probably messed up big time.
Thank you Maria. your so kind.

Thank you Kay. not sure the hut would be very comfy. It's a photo we took when visiting the USA.
Dors, I love watching your WIP. It amazes me what you can do with graphite. Thank you for the sunshine award I am touched that you thought of me :)
Beautifully done, Doreen! You worked the cp with graphite very effectively and I agree about the trees bringing it to life :)

Thanks for posting your ref photo. You have made your drawing much better than the original with more colour and depth. i love it!
awwwwwwwwwww thank you Sally.
You are so kind.
Looking good Dors. The Olympics are done and I am back on line ready to enjoy some of you hard work. I love the work you did with the graphite powder, very subtle.
This is so great! Don't you just love drawing old, rotting, delapodated things? I don't know how to spell that word, but I know it's much more interesting than "new" or "modern!" I've never used the powders. I'm curious as to why you prefer them over the CP's? And thank you so much for the sunshine award! You are so much better than I at keeping up with the blogging. Karen Hull got me into RedBubble, and so many other artist friends are on facebook - I just can't keep up with all the social networks!!
Hi Wendy. Thank you for your kind comment.
It's good to have you back. Hope you enjoyed the Olympics.
Looking forward to your artwork again.
Hi Deb.
Thank you for your kind comment.
Oh I love both CP and graphite. I think that overall graphite is my favourite media.
I left Facebook...as I could not keep up with it all. I just concentrate on the blogging..
Very nice. It looks great.
Thank you Jeanne. :)
