Orang-utan

©Doreen Cross

Graphite with a touch of Prisma CP on 220gm Canson 23 x 25 cm

I thought I would show the photos taken at different times of the day.. left is night(artificial light) right is morning (daylight) The likeness to my drawing is more like the one on the left.
I did another drawing the same as this a while back which I gifted to Maria... I thought I would also have one to hang along side the Meerkat.. I may even keep going and have animals all along one wall.

Love the orang-utan! He is such a cutie and he drawing is superb! You do animals very well! Isn't it amazing how the art changes in different lighting?
Thanks for the recognition Dors!

You have such a talent for capturing the innocent expressions of your animals. Love this one. The little guy
looks miles away, lost in "Orang Thoughts". That one bit of color on the leaves is genius!

Thank you... Sam I am honoured.

Beth... Thank you for your kind comments

Gwen... Thank you for your kind comment. Yes he does look miles away..deep in thought.
I just love to try and capture their personality/thoughts.

Dors, you did a great job on him. Have you tried scanning your work rather than photographs? I use a flatbed scanner and it works great and gives consistent color for my work. Larger pieces can be pieced together.

Thank you Wendy for your kind comment. I do prefer to use the scanner but this drawing was too large to fit in the scanner.
