I have to be truthfull ...I did find this a very difficult project. I am learning though and that is the important thing. Please feel free to critique as it will help me to learn more.
I don't think there's much to critiqe Dors! He's adorable!
After struggling through a few landscape challenges, I think I'm finding that I'm really most comfortable painting animals - when I have a person or pet or animal that I can paint a face with an expression - that's when I am in my "zone." I love being able to brighten the eyes, or tweak the corners of the mouth, or wrinkle the nose a bit - to make the subjects look a little better than they do in their photos.
I love it. But you know that already. We who call ourselves artists (lol) always see and have things to make better and that we do not like that much. But if it wouldn't be so, we at once can stop drawing or painting - because to improve and to "make better" is one of the most satifying thing - or what dou you think?
I Think its a beautiful Portrait, Somwtimes we can be a bit paranoid in our attempts to do better, many times I should have left something and went back and fiddled, Now once I'm Finished I leave it to view for a day, doing small tweaks, and then I sign it, once I sign it I don't touch it anymore. If I'm not happy with something in one of my paintings, but I can't seem to see what it is I have a look at it in a mirror. Your Spaniel is beautiful though, sign it. Lindaxx
Hi Dors, I finally found my way back to your blog, I just wanted to say I really love this little spaniel, he looks like a best friend anyone would love to death. I love the fur, his pose everything, really really great piece.
Aahh!! that looks beautiful. In the first look i couldn't realise if this is your painting. I thought this one's the original one and was scrolling down to see your work.
You have given such a natural look to it.It has mesmerized me and i hardly can go off from your blog. it looks fantabulous and you have really done a gr8 job. Hat's off mam.

I really like this. The fur looks nice and soft and fluffy.
